We have found poetry increasingly essential at the heart of our work. It questions our understanding of what it means to be human, and in the process, deepens our humanity. Probably no other art form is better than poetry at getting us directly inside other's mind,. The ability to imagine some one else's inner life is where compassion begins. We are going to put a poet on the air election an of two thousand eighteen. That first time it was michael longley, the northern irish poet.
