Set Theory - A Paradime Change
mathematics exploded into a hundred branches, each one built on its own system of axioms. And people working in these different sub fields wouldn't necessarily talk much to people working in other mathematical sub fields. There was yet another paradime change in the first half of the twentieth century. Set theory all of a sudden acquired a lot of importance. Sad theory created a foundation for all mathematics. But it did more than that. It created an autonymous mathematical paradise. As such as this free tanding paradise, this free standing a mathematical realm, it became a perfect model for other domains at least from the point of view of the philosopher.
