John Is a Lot More Interested in Stuff Outside the Torah Than in the Torah
John is really tracking with the prophets, prophetic literature, and the Psalms outside the prophetic literature. In just in terms of citations, it's Isaiah first, Psalms 97, then Ezekiel with 83,. Then Pentateuch, those five books combined are 82. He cites Daniel 74 times. Almost, he almost has the same number of allusions from one book, Daniel, that he does the first five of the Torah. John is a lot more interested in stuff outside the Torah than in the Torah.
