So long as there aren't decisive problems for the kind of compatibilist view, I think it's a safe position to be in. If somebody is accused of something and it turns out that they couldn't have done otherwise than they did on the surface of it, that seems like a pretty good reason to say that they're not blame worthy for what they've done.
