The Fed can do one or two things. They can fight inflation or the economy. So if they're raising interest rates, they're trying to fight inflation. But it comes at a price because now when it becomes more expensive to borrow money, less people are going to buy a home. Less businesses are going to have dollars to invest back into their company. These companies rely on their valuations to continue raising money.
