How to Make a Noun Plural

Sparks account shows that the plural suffix could be written down as either s or es in the mid-1500s. In fact, most of his plural nouns are spelled with es. But carrots and parsnips are made plural with a simple s. Today if we want to make a noun plural, we usually add an s to the end.
