The U.S. de-pegged the dollar from gold, ushering in the era of Bretton Woods two. The problem was that we immediately used this power to wage war. We just began fighting wars that were not officially declared wars. And so rather predictably, there's been a global backlash against that and the BRICS countries are forming their own SDR.
