Crippen and Ethel initially stand trial together, then authorities start to worry that there might be sympathy from the jury for Ethel. So they decide to separate out the trials and Ethel is tried later. Crippen's trial doesn't last very long, but I'm not in the standards, modern trials can go on for weeks, but this one lasts for six days. The trial was quite an extraordinary spectacle because of the public interest that it aroused.
