The temptation of obtaining a peaceful temperament is to withdraw from the pursuit of justice. The only way to motivate people is through alarm, inorat people won't act unless they're alarmed. People respond to alarm but i think it's very important to say a sense of confidence in the sovereignty of god is not a call to withdrawal. It's no, it's a call to be on the side of history if we know where history is going - that ultimately jesus will return to break thebow and shatter the shield.
It’s been an eventful week, and for many a deeply troubling one. But of course, no matter what end of the political spectrum you come from, weeks like this seem increasingly common. The hits just keep on coming, as do the feelings of loss and fear. So how are we as Christians to navigate such deeply troubled times? This week, David and Curtis dive into this question with some interesting thoughts from Rudyard Kipling, and some even more important (and eternal) wisdom from the Psalms.
