He says that voting betokens consent. But, you know, not everybody votes. And then he goes on to say that even if they do vote, their consent doesn't extend beyond the term for which they are voting. He finds himself without his consent, so situated that if he use the ballot, he may become a master. If he does not use it, he must become a slave. So why do you vote self defence? Youvote in order that you not be ruled by the worst of people. Is that really consent?
