The Death of Augustus

Rumors persist to this day that Livia poisoned the figs Augustus was fond of eating. When confronted with these accusations, Tiberius made a great stink about opening an inquiry into the case in order to clear his own name. There is also some disagreement about how and why Augustus finally died.
