The Different Sources of Oxalate in the Body

Oxalate is a byproduct of chemical processes that are principally happening in the liver, somewhat in the red blood cells and maybe even a little bit in the kidneys. There's these precursor molecules that can be shunted into oxalate. If you're stressed and you don't have enough B vitamins and too much inflammation your system can end up having more oxalate generated from the liver production. It's a fairly small amount, probably from amino acid breakdown.
