The Challenges of Writing 500 Words a Day
For the first 10 years of my career, I was writing and working full time. And then I became a full-time writer. And I do not write books any faster now. I write it at the same pace as I did when I was fitting it around the day job. It's probably the challenges, the self awareness that the days that felt good, where the words were flowing, I had all these flowery descriptions which needed to be cut. Those days still produce good work so it is worth persevering and keeping on with it.
