The Etruscan Civilization
The etruscan civilization was in place before the latin speaking tribes arrived. They were a loose collection of city states focused primarily on trade and commerce, not military conquest or empire. And like the phoenicians, they did not have a strong central government. But for now, it was a quickly emerging commercial and cultural power in northern italy. Their art rivalled the best art of classical greece.
