The Hermeneutical Key to Reading Other Gospels

The author of John is lying about his identities deceiving people, but what Jesus actually taught and it's in the New Testament. Can a Christian have this view? If you don't want to answer that, you don't need to, but it's where you're talking to the Catholic me now.
