Last year companies attempted to use that new policy to stop about 50 shareholder proposals on e s g issues. Of those, the s c c allowed about 22 to be blocked, including ten on environmental issues. Many other companies have stopped up and are doing better, more thorough e s g disclosures in the face of this investor pressure.
