The Effect of Artificial Light on the Settlement Process in the Menai Strait

The experiment was conducted in the Menai Strait, which is the sea-straight that exists between the island of Anglessey and the northwest coast of Wales. The experimental setup was essentially a floating pontoon with a series of wells in it. Within those wells we submerged what are called settlement panels into the water column,. Then larvae from the surrounding environment then colonized those panels. And some of those panels we lit up with lights and other panels we left unlit.
