Is the Reserve Bank Reluctant to Rake Rates?
The reserve bag is following the lines, fractly, of the finas ministry. The finance ministry wants to cus on grow smoother and fresher. So they have been very reluctant to raise interest reds. But now that central banks everywhere are raising them in leaps and bounds, suddenly the reserve bank says i cannot afford to be seen completely left behind. Even if it increases rates quite a bit, if the interest rates are till negative in real terms, it cannot be accused of sinking the economy.
