The Importance of Transfer
A hundred years ago, people knew that some linear regression thing was doing better than doctors at a whole bunch of different tasks. Things that are just like, apparently, small amounts of transfer away, sometimes are really hard for doctors to do very well in. The way to one way to deal with that is just to think everyone will fail or imagine everyone is stupid. Don't talk down to them, right? Use the right kind of tone of language and stuff. Just kind of imagine them to be stupid. It really helps. But expectation that everything will go wrong is really good. Because it will fight against the expert blindness,.
