The Search for Aliens
The search for aliens is almost like a lot of the arguments you start to hear in a field called apologetics. They look for science that we don't understand yet, they feed upon our brains need to find agency in everything. We have a hard time believing that things just happen because of natural forces or things beyond our understanding. It's much easier to believe that we live in an ecosystem that's filled with intelligences beyond ours,. except to think that maybe we are a tiny speck of life in a cold and indifferent universe that's mostly sterile.
