The Writing Life
The Rise and Fall of the Fiction Writer
Like Charles Dickens Alexander Dumas those were some of my favorite favorite writers. Those books are long and it's because they were writing as part of the fully-at-ton which was like a the fiction portion of the newspaper just like today you might have a comics section of the newspaper. Like Alexander Dumas he wrote Count of Monte Cristo that book came out in 18 installments over two years in the journal day debots. He was paid the equivalent today of 64,000 dollars per installment per he's he's got 18 of those so he's being paid per chapter for his work.
