How Do You Effectively Support Your Software?

As a developer, you have access to all these different libraries or modules or packages. So we build software on like third party platforms that other people own and operate for us in a way. We also have external dependencies, like you said, for mail service and all kinds of different things. What challenges does this introduce? I mean, for me, the first thing that comes to mind is that the developers that are building and operating the software, now they have to become experts in so much more than if they were building on their own possibly.
