The Debt Ceiling Deal Shakes Out Financially for the Government
The last time this happened with the Democratic president and Republicans in the House was in 2011 under Obama. President Obama agreed to $2.1 trillion in spending cuts to end that debt ceiling crisis. The result would be the lowest level of annual domestic spending since Dwight Eisenhower was president. This deal is a little bit different because it doesn't have the same type of structure of spending cuts. It's only for two years.
