The Importance of Comprehensible Input in Language Immersion Programs

We have to remember that language is a tool. It's something we're using to communicate to connect with other people. And if we're not using any form of output, then is that really the tool that we need? Is that helping us really meet our goals? If all your goal is to just, you know, watch TV shows or listen, read news or articles and things like that, then maybe it is. For the majority people, it's not just a one sided thing.
