The Heritability Estimate for Personality Characteristics

Geneticists use statistics called heritability, which can range from 0% to 100%. Heritability seeks to estimate the percentage of individual differences in a trait that can be attributed to inherited genetic factors. For example, height is on the order of 80 to 90%. Most behavioral traits are much less heritable than height.
