How to Trade Options on the VIX

The VIX is a mean reverting series. So there are no trends per se other than very long term. The way I'd be thinking about trading this is if we were to have some form of move, let's say once we get through earnings season,. Maybe there's some inflationary readings and maybe there's some fear that the Fed is going to get a bit more aggressive than the market is right now pricing for rate hikes. And I don't really need much to happen here. A 30% move to have this a double or a triple. That's the trade I would take.
