What's the Strength of Written Fiction?
In this novel, those gaps and that despecificity work in particular ways. We don't really know what Anders looks like when he changes. What are these people looking like post-change as the world darken? How are they darkening? And we also maintain a kind of tight focus on the domestic drama, really, of Anders's relationship,. The love story between Anders and Una, between Una and Una's mother, and between Anders and Anders's father. These three love stories are really the very heart of the novel. I've written this novel really so that the reader has a lot of space to imagine it into existence. Much of the shape the novel takes
