Ben-Gorian's Compromise on the Rock of Israel
The Declaration of Independence was signed by Israel's first prime minister on May 14th, 1948. The text emphasized that the Jewish state would be based on freedom, justice and peace. After three weeks of revision and rewriting, time had arrived for Ben-Gorian to read the declaration. He never mentioned God explicitly choosing instead the phrase Sorchius-R-L,. It seemed like a decent compromise acknowledging a higher power without referring to one by name.
