We were not very clear about the aggregate implications of cities and what actually cities do to the big macroeconomic quantities, income, rate of growth. So then to explore that sort of question, it's really hard because you need lots of cities and lots of countries if you want to do something purely empirical. People have tried to do some cross-sectional work using data from different countries, but that's not been particularly successful. This cross-country growth regression, lots and lots of problems.
