i think social media is a sort of infstructural ethnic ontepiner ship. It turns each and every one of us into an contributor, because we are getting paid and likes and followers an attention for the worst thing we can say about the other side. So that we've established the factors of super factionalism, ethnic ontrpratorship and ocracy. How is social media an accelerate to these forces? Yes. But what we have are hunches, but these are really important and powerful hunches, and they're based on trends that we're seeing.

Civil war might be the most likely escalation pathway towards disaster for our country. On the flip side, learning how to avoid civil conflict — and more ambitiously, repair our civic fabric — might have the greatest leverage for addressing the challenges we face.
