The Noun Footprint

Footprint has a couple of different meanings, but the way it was used in our conversation refers to the area occupied or taken up by a building and its surrounding land. By saying this, Skip was communicating that the opposite way round would work as well. Footprint can also be used to state how much space something uses. For example, how much memory or disk space a particular piece of software takes up. Computer games today have a huge footprint to accommodate the complex graphics and game-playing options. Modern games can have a footprint as high as 100 GB or even more. And the adjective staggering is our next word.
