Philosophy is a very verbal activity, that philosophers who are good at philosophy are immersed in the world of words and not of imageies. A lot of philosophical ideas would be very difficult to translate into imagery. So it's natural that people who work in such ideas professionally would be somewhat sceptical of the idea that we think in sensory terms.
