Casablanca and Stalingrad
Had Hitler taken on Stalingrad, it's not to be ruled out that Stalin would have sued for some kind of peace with Germany. There was a lot of resentment on the Soviet side that the Western allies were not honoring their commitments. Casablanca then was another very hopeful signal that the alliance would be working but between Casablanca and the actual D-Day landing in June 1944, again lots of recommendations would be sounded. It isn't a dance-nose history. Don't go anywhere.
