The Task of the Translator

Walter benhamin is a British philosopher and critic of modernity. In his essay 'The task of the translator' he looks at what it means to translate something from one language into another. He argues that there are thousands of different ways you can do this, so your job should be to choose the way that most easily allows people to get hold of it. This week we look at Benhamin's work on translation theory in more detail.
