The Impact of Large Vascular Occlusion on Stroke

There's been a handful of recent publications that are important to consider as they may lead to changes in our current stroke paradigm, specifically in those patients with large vessel occlusion. Angel Aspect and Select 2 were published early 2023 in the New England Journal of Medicine. Both studies were randomized, prospective, open-label trials. The alteration to protocol in these studies is that the researchers specifically sought to enroll patients with larger, infarcted cores.
