French Revolution - The Bastille Da July 14th

On july fourteenth, a large group of parisians congregated outside the bastille. This day was, for many, the start of the french revolution. The period from late 17 89 through to early 17 91 was relatively peaceful in terms of bloodshed. But there was intense debate about what sort of society france should become. What place did a monarchy have in the future of the country and what should be done with it?
