The Problem With Coal
The global supply and demand is very roughly around 6 billion tons per year. The top three in terms of mining is China who produces about 4 billion tons a year. And lignite presumably will pop up again in this story given what Germany is currently doing with it. On an energy normalized basis it's about double polluting the natural gas in terms of carbon dioxide production.
