The Battle of K-Desh

For the Hittites it was a piece of cunning that could have worked out to be one of the most disastrous episodes in Egyptian history. Ultimately the Egyptians could not sustain the siege which in some reports state that it took place over a number of months. The outcome of the campaign was a fight for survival which Ramesses and the Egyptians survived. Muwertali the second actually expanded his area of influence in the Levant after the Egyptians left the scene of Kaidesh so that in itself strongly points towards the Hittite coming out the stronger of the two empires in the aftermath.
