Many people think of insulin as just something related to carbohydrate. Insulin also, as I pointed out in my new examine.com research digest editorial, insulin is also one of the central factors in promoting the antioxidant defense system and the system of detoxification. In general, we have good evidence that we are in a period of long-term energy abundance that's signaled through body fat and leptin. And our body is going to engage in fertility when both of those signals are robust.
