Can I Disinherit My Spouse?

You can't disinherit your spouse that way. Or if you're going to try, you need to have them sign off on it. So now the default for qualified plans is your spouse. And not only w would require your spouse's signature, but also a notary, usually, to wipe them off of it. But like you said, there's a way to do it. You just have to have somebody signed off on it and get it notarized.
