A queue is a system that, well, you need a bunch of things. But generally speaking, you have in addition to your queue some sort of utility that helps you manage this a little bit better. In the Python ecosystem, I would say that historically, salary was the way to go. And then you have newfangled stuff like Kafka which is also queue ish in kind, but actually behaves quite a bit different.
