How to Avoid Skipping Foundational Steps in Computer Science Teaching

"I think having students skip those kind of foundational steps was a real concern for everyone that we talked to so we did an interview study with 20 instructors who teach programming in like first year programming classes all across the world," he said. "They expressed the same concern which was okay if students use child GPT to skip over that like process of struggling with those easier questions and when you get to the medium questions and the hard questions how will they have the mental tools to tackle them?" He continued: "Even if I tell us it's not to do it they're going to use it anyway my is what graced it and embedded into my curriculum itself."
