The benevolent manipulator is the person who holds the kite with a string. It's like, if you look at the orbit of the moon around the earth, there's nothing no strings attached to it. But the gravitas of the manipulator is full of strings from far away and they're going to see all of the manipulation techniques that keep it afloat.
