The islanders of the syclodes, which were rich in metals. In contrast to metal poor crete, brought copper ore. The same ships also brought syclatic pottery and probably the craftspeople who made it. Advances in local agriculture like greater emphasis on secondary animal products make people wealthy. And it gave them prestige within their communities.
