The Importance of Salvation
Peter's first answer is that Christ died for our sins, therefore I conclude I need to be saved from my sins. And He describes my sins as a disease; the cross where He suffered and the wounds He received as the healing for the disease of sin. Now let's ask does Peter have any statements about what we are saved for? In other words, is there a situation in which if something doesn't happen, I'm going to lose the most precious things that I can imagine? Let's get His answer here on this as well. Verse 25: You were continually straying like sheep, but now you have returned to the shepherd and guardian of your souls.
