Momentum as a Stock Selection Strategy

A good example would be, if you looked it like a biotec to gets a drug to prove nay, the stock goes up 400 %. That would have very strong momentum. Just looking at it on its own, but you would favor a company that sort of had that consistent earnings growing over time and the prices going up over time. And if you didn't use a consistency measure, those two stocks could end up looking the same. One other thing i would say that's negative about momentum is momentum does tend to struggle when you get these shifts in the market.
