i think some of the hesitation around disclosing mental health issues at work is because we're worried as women about the ramifications. For me, i thought about not sharing this really important piece of information about myself for a while and then realized i just could not kind of really thrive in my work place. Many times, when you have a relationship with somebody in the workplace that you can kind of take that risk with, you'll be surprised at how people have similarities with you on some of these dimensions that they may not have been willing to admit or share with some one else. And it can actually bring you much closer with that person.
