The Church of Scientology in Clearwater

The church of Scientology currently owns more than $260 million in property in downtown Clearwater. The plan involves attracting a few major retail brands and then filling open spaces with handpicked businesses similar to an outdoor mall. According to FSU news quote, Scientology leader David Miscavige introduced a retail strategy to Clearwater's community redevelopment agency. It has not yet been made public nor will it be subject to a vote.
