There's something about a bug stimulating a human woman that I'm never gonna be able to stop thinking about. And there's just a lot of gross stuff. Like kind of like out of all, like the bugs that get exposed to like boric acid or when their faces are boiling because they got sprayed with stufflike whoa. That's a very surface level satire that I think the book is actually trying to do more than that but it is there. It was written in the 80s published in the 90s, there was a different time. Misogyny was, was definitely, was it a okay? Yeah, it didn't exist because, yes, because it was okay.
Our Patron's Choice Poll for June had a theme: Junebugs! And this novel by Weiss about a roach colony attempting to assert control over the apartment in which they live is uhh...well it won the poll. So Craig read it. And now he's going to talk about it.
Caveat lictor: this book is a strange one (also it's got more explicit sexual content than you might expect!)
