The Red Book is a massive red leather book, about 12 inches by 15 inches. Inscribed in gold on the binding is a Latin title, Lieber Novus. The writing is done by hand in a careful calligraphy style. All throughout the book, there are beautiful and intricate paintings. These experiences were symptoms of a mental breakdown that Jung was suffering at this point in his life.
